29 July 2010 | Comments Off

A very sweet example of how we learn from our parents. This banned Volkswagen television advertisement represents the way in which our opinions, behaviour and decisions are instilled in us from an early age. Brands which we are brought up with play an enormous role in decisions we make as adults. Brand reinforcement from an early age creates and forms the foundations for our years to come.

What the font!

B2B Marketing, Design

20 May 2010 | Comments Off

Have you ever wanted to find out a font somebody has used on a website or magazine? Well now you can with www.whatthefont.com. I came across this little gem of a website when a client of mine really liked a font that they wanted to use but had no idea what the font was called or who had produced it.

All you have to do is scan in an image of the font and What The Font (by Myfonts) scans and accesses their database of fonts to find the best possible match.

It’s a great tool for any designer / type designer looking out for the next typeface they are keen to use in their future projects.

On my search for such a nifty little tool I also found that the clever guys at MyFonts also have produced an iPhone App, which you can also download… what a result!

You now can photograph any cool font you find out and about on your travels!
